GRAPHIC IDENTITY. Easily said, not so easy to accomplish. However, when it works, it looks like it was meant to be. That's the trick that JOSEPH STAMLER, principal of VISUAL TRANSFORMATIONS, accomplishes for his clients when they come to him in need of a logo, a corporate identity, Web page design, brochures, or many other mediums where visual impact is an essential ingredient.
After 20 years as Director of Systems & Graphics for the Arthritis Foundation's New York Chapter, Joe founded his company to serve the professional, small business and nonprofit segments of Fairfield County. Add to that list the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, where Joe has been instrumental both as a member and as a contributor to the Chamber's recent efforts in uplifting its image to the community.
Stamler serves on the Chamber's logo competition and marketing committees. He also designed the cover of the Chamber's 1998-99 Membership Directory & Business Guide. When the committee chairs met recently for the Chamber's VIP Awards, frequent mention was made of the valuable work he has performed.
"My wife, Ann, and I moved here from Stamford just a year ago," he said, "and from the moment I joined the Chamber last summer, I knew we had made the right move. I was warmly welcomed and graciously introduced to the business community." Stamler feels that a strong personal involvement is vital to his creative work; and the Fairfield Chamber and business community provide just that, while at the same time allowing the professional growth and outreach he is looking for.
Of all the design services he provides to his clients, the one that gives him the greatest gratification is designing logos and identity programs for the area's small business, professional and nonprofit communities. In addition to his special blend of skills and expertise developed at the Arthritis Foundation, Stamler brings to his business a knowledge of foreign languages as diverse as French, Spanish, German, Italian, Danish and Japanese. Joe has a passion for music, and one of his favorite projects was designing a poster in Russian for the Fairfield County Friends of Music which promoted a special appearance by the St. Petersburg String Quartet. His clients are many and varied.
